Aloo Tikki :




Timing :


  • Preparation Time : 15 minutes
  • Coocking Time : 20 minutes
  • Total Time : 35 minutes


Ingredient :


  • Potato : 4 pcs large
  • Coriander leaves ; 1 tbsp
  • Ginger : ½ inch
  • Green chili (chopped) : 2-3 pcs
  • Red chili powder : ¼ tsp
  • Coriander powder : ½ tsp
  • Cumin powder : ½ tsp
  • Chaat masala powder : ¼ tsp
  • Dry mango powder : ¼ tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Corn flour : 2 tbsp
  • Oil : to fry
  • Coriander (chopped) : ½ cup



Method :


  • wash and pressure cook the potatos for 6 whistles.
  • Remove the skin of the potatos and mash them using potato masher.
  • Refrigerate the mashed potatos this for 15 minutes.
  • Add finely chopped coriander leaves, finely chopped green chili and finely chopped or grated ginger.
  • Also add red chili powder, coriander powder, chaat masala, dry mango powder, cumin powder and salt to taste.
  • Add corn flour to bind the potatoes mixture.
  • Make equal sized tikkis with the potato mixture using your hand.


  • Add oil in a pan and shallow fry the tikkis on both sides by flipping it after one side is cooked.
  • serve hot with raita, green chutney and tamarind chutney.


Tips :


  • You can add onion of your choice.
  • You can use butter or ghee to roast the tikki.
