Jeera (Cumin) Cookies :
Timing :
- Preparation time : 10 minutes
- cooking time : 15 minutes
- Total time : 25 minutes
Ingredient :
- Whole wheat flour : ½ cup
- Maida : ½ cup
- Potato Starch : 1 tsp
- Butter : 2 tbsp
- Sugar : ¼ cup
- Jeera (roasted cumin seeds) : ¼ cup
- Milk : 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste (½ tsp)
Method :
- First of all, in a large bowl take butter and sugar, and make a cream using wire whisk.
- Add Whole wheat flour, maida, potato starch, salt and half cumin seeds to the butter and sugar and mix.
- Mix at low speed till the mixture looks smooth and comes together in form of dough.
- You may add 1-2 tbsp milk and mix well.
- Using a roller, roll the dough to ¼ inch thickness, between two pieces of parchment paper.
- Cut in to round shapes (different shape) using cookie cutter and sprinkle them with the remaining roasted cumin seeds.
- Place the cookie in a baking tray and chill for 10 minutes in a freezer.
- Preheat the oven and back at 180 degree celsius for 7-8 minutes. After that take them out and reduce the temperature and back the cookie again 7-8 minutes or till light they are golden brown from the bottom.
- Jeera Cookie is ready. Enjoy these cookies with a cup of coffee or tea.
- Store the cookies once they are completely cooled down in a air tight container.
Tips :
- If you don't prefer salty cookie, use only ¼ tsp salt or up to 1 tsp of salt if you prefer saltier cookies. I have used ½ tsp of salt.
- Avoid adding sugar if you have make cookie for diabetes patient.
