Aloo Gobhi

Ingredient :
  • Baby potatoes : 250 gm
  • Cauliflower : 250 gm
  • Onions (chopped) : 2 medium
  • Tomatoes (chopped) : 2 medium
  • Oil : 2 tbsp
  • Ginger-Garlic paste : 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds : ½ tsp
  • Coriander powder : ½ tsp
  • Turmeric powder : ¼ tsp
  • Red chili powder : ¼ tsp
  • Green chilies (chopped) : 2 medium
  • Garam masala : ¼ tsp
  • Coriander leaves (chopped) : 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste 
  • Water (As needed)
  • Kasoori methi : 1 tsp



Method :

  • First of all, Heat oil in a pan and put cumin seeds to it. Let the seeds sizzle for few second.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste and chopped green chili and saute it for a minutes.
  • Then add chopped onions and cook for 2-3 minutes until onions are soft and golden brown in colour.
  • Add chopped tomatoes, stir and mix well.
  • Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, coriander powder and salt to taste. Cook the spices for 30 seconds.
  • Add potatoes and half cup of water. Cover the pan and cook for around 5 minutes. You may stir them once in a between.
  • Place the cauliflower on top and sprinkle coriander leaves. Do not stir.
  • Add water and simmer it for 5 minutes again and cover the pan.
  • Next add kasoori methi (crush it between your hand palms) and mix well.
  • Aloo gobi is ready. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve Aloo gobi hot with rumali roti.


Tips :
  • Chop everything before you start. Remember to chop the potatoes and cauliflower in large pieces (1 inch).
  • You don't need a lot of water for this Aloo gobi recipe.
