Bread Pakoda




Timing :

Ingredient :

For stuffing :
  • Potato (boiled and mashed) : 3 medium
  • Onion (chopped) : 1 medium
  • Ginger-garlic paste : 2 tsp
  • Green chili (chopped) : 2
  • Red chili powder : ½ tsp
  • Turmeric powder : ¼ tsp
  • Garam masala : ½ tsp
  • Asafoitida : ¼ tsp
  • Curry leaves : 5-6
  • Mustard seeds : ¼ tsp
  • Coriander leaves : 2 tsp
  • Oil : 2 tsp
  • Lemon juice : 1 tsp (optional)
  • Salt to taste 

For batter :
  • Gram flour : 2 cup
  • Turmeric powder : ¼ tsp
  • Pinch of soda
  • Salt to taste
  • Water : ½ cup
Other Ingredient :
  • Bread slice : 6-8


Method :

  • First of all, heat oil in a large pan on medium flame. Add mustard seeds, curry leaves and pinch of asafoitida. Stir a little.
  • Now add ginger garlic paste, green chili and mix well.
  • Then add boiled mashed potatoes, chopped onions, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, coriander leaves and salt to taste. 
  • Mix them thoroughly in the pan to make a thick stuffing. Keep the mixture aside.
  • Take a bowl add gram flour, turmeric powder, pinch of soda, salt to taste, add water and make a batter.
  • Now heat oil in a pan. 
  • Take slices of bread and spread a preparing stuffing over half slice of bread.
  • Cover with another half slice and dip into batter covering both sides.
  • Deep fry immediately it in hot oil.
  • Fry till the bread pakoda turns golden and crispy from both the side.
  • Bread pakoda is ready. Serve hot and enjoy this bread pakoda with  green chilies along with tomato ketchup.






Tips :

  • You can spread green chutney on both sides of the bread and after it put aloo stuffing.
  • after deep frying the bread pakoda, make sure to take them out on a tissue paper. It will soak out the extra oil.
  • The consistency of the batter is very important to make good bread pakoda. It should neither be too thick or too thin.
  • Fry the bread pakoda in medium heat.
